Copyright Policy

Sonex respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We take copyright infringement seriously and will respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with applicable laws.

As a producer on Sonex, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to upload, publish, and sell the beats you list on our platform
• Your beats do not infringe upon the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party
• You have properly licensed or cleared any samples, loops, or third-party content used in your beats
• Your beats do not contain any unlicensed copyrighted material

If your beat contains samples from other musical works, you must ensure that:

• You have obtained proper sample clearance from the copyright holder(s)
• You are using royalty-free samples that allow for commercial resale
• You are using samples under a valid license that permits the intended use

Using uncleared samples puts both you and your customers at legal risk and is strictly prohibited on our platform.

If you believe that content on Sonex infringes your copyright, you may submit a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice. Your notice must include:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough information to locate it on our platform
• Your contact information (address, telephone number, email)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

If you believe your content was wrongly removed due to a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification containing:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, and telephone number
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your district (or Accra, Ghana if outside the US)
• A statement that you will accept service of process from the complainant

Sonex maintains a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers. After receiving multiple valid DMCA notices against a user's content:

• First offense: Warning and content removal
• Second offense: Temporary account suspension
• Third offense: Permanent account termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts immediately in cases of egregious or willful infringement.

While we do not actively monitor all uploads for copyright infringement, we use various tools and respond promptly to valid infringement reports. We may also implement audio fingerprinting and other technologies to help identify potentially infringing content.

If you're a producer, we recommend:

• Registering your original works with appropriate copyright offices
• Keeping records of your creative process and ownership
• Using content identification services to monitor for unauthorized use
• Including copyright metadata in your audio files

Filing false DMCA notices or counter-notifications may result in legal liability. Please ensure your claims are accurate before submission. We reserve the right to take action against users who file false or bad-faith claims.
